Ma démarche artistique s’articule autour de deux axes principaux, à savoir une pratique en recherche-création et une pratique d’arts visuels en mixed-media et en cinéma. Mon approche est encré dans les littératures et cinéma queer, féministes et décoloniaux qui constituent ensemble, avec l’archivistique, le socle réflexif de ma pratique.

La recherche-création, en tant que méthodologie, encadre ici un mode d’investigation spéculatif soutenant d’autres modes d'émergence des savoirs et de conceptualisations, d’autant plus nécessaire dans le contexte d’effacement systémique des réalités queer et décolonial. Mon travail explore les dimensions politiques des expériences individuelles et collectives, mettant l’accent sur les intersections de l'identité, de la mémoire, et des féminismes queer et décoloniaux.

Mes œuvres cherchent à examiner les relations affectives que nous entretenons avec nos territoires, nos communautés, nos ancêtres, et les paradoxes de nos identités, tout en s'insérant dans une critique politique des discours dominants. Ainsi cette démarche de production et de réécriture multimédiatique se conjuguent à la recherche socio-politique pour construire des narrations alternatives.

My artistic approach revolves around two main axes: a practice of research-creation and a practice of visual arts in mixed media and cinema. Influenced by the intersections of my political identities, my approach is rooted in queer, feminist, and decolonial literatures and cinema, which together with archiving, form the reflective foundation of my practice.

Research-creation, as a methodology, frames here a speculative mode of investigation that supports other modes of knowledge emergence and conceptualization, all the more necessary in the context of the systemic erasure of queer and decolonial realities. My work explores the political dimensions of individual and collective experiences, emphasizing the intersections of identity, memory, and queer and decolonial feminisms. My creations aim to question the construction of the self through the reappropriation of narratives and the critical examination of dominant discourses.

My works seek to examine the affective relationships we maintain with our territories, our communities, our ancestors, and the paradoxes of our identities, while embedding themselves in a political critique of dominant discourses. My work aims to critically and collectively engage with my transatlantic and filial heritage between West Africa and Europe, exploring notions of transmission, queerness, and racialization. Thus, this approach to multimedia production and rewriting combines with socio-political research to construct alternative narratives.
